Ingredients :    

Split Bengal gram

- 1/4 cup

Split green gram

- 1/4 cup

Split red gram

- 1/4 cup

Ginger

- 1/2 inch

Grated green chillies

- 2

Chopped onion

- 1

Chopped tomato

- 1

Chopped garlic

- 3 cloves

Turmeric powder

- 1 pinch

Oil

- 2 tbsp

Lemon juice

- 1 tbsp

Coriander leaves

- 3 tbsp

Salt

- to taste

Seasoning :

   
Dry red chillies
- 2
Cloves
- 2
Bay leaves
- 2
Asafoetida - 1 pinch

Method :

Soak the dals for one hour. Cook them in a pressure cooker. Keep aside. Heat oil in a pan and add the seasoning.

Fry until they turn brown. Add chopped ginger, garlic, chillies and fry for 4-5 min. Add onions, tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder and cook till done.

Mash the dals. Add 2 cups of water and cook. Simmer for a few min. Add the lemon juice, coriander leaves and stir well.
