Ingredients :    
Basmati Rice - 11/2 cup
Potatoes, diced - 1 1/2 cup
Green peas
- 1 cup
Diced carrots
- 1 cup
Cloves
- 2
Cinnamon
- 1 stick
Cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp
Asafetida
- 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp
Garam masala
- 1/2 tsp
Ghee
- 3 tbsp
Salt - to taste

Method :

Wash and drain the rice. Keep aside.

Heat ghee in a cooker, add and cloves, cinnamon, cumin seeds and fry for 2-3 min. Add the asafetida, vegetables and salt and stir for a few min.

Add the turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala and rice and stir again for 5 min. till it is evenly mixed.

Add 3 cups of hot water and cover the lid. Cook in a pressure cooker.

Very simple and sumptious dish. i cook for my mother who has very particular tastes, and she loved it!
