Mushroom Manchurian

Mushroom Manchurian is a Chinese recipe, which is very popular in India. This Indo Chinese recipe pairs well with steamed rice or plain noodles and also is an excellent combination with roti or naan. Watch video!

Ingredients :

Mushrooms Thinly sliced - 200 gm
Salt - to taste
Corn flour - 1 tbsp
Water - as required
Food color - ½ tsp
Red chilly powder - 1-2 tsp
Ginger Garlic paste - 2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 3-4 tbsp

For saute

Sliced onions - 1-2 no
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Green chillies chopped - 2-3 no
Curry leaves - 10-15
Soya Sauce - 2-3 tbsp

Cooking Method :

In order to prepare the Mushroom Manchurian recipe, lets first prepare the marinade for frying. Mix the ingredients such as corn flour, water, ginger garlic paste, along with salt, Red chilly powder and food color. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly to form a thick batter. Now lets coat the thinly chopped mushrooms with the thick batter and lets keep it aside for 15 minutes. Heat oil in a shallow pan. Fry the marinated mushroom over medium flame until they just start to turn light golden brown. Do not deep-fry the masala-coated mushrooms for a long time otherwise they start to release water and the oil may splatter. Take them out from oil and drain excess oil. Keep it aside.

Heat oil in a pan and add thinly sliced onions along with ginger garlic paste and continue sautéing until the onions turn translucent. To this add chopped green chilies along with Soya sauce and continue to sauté until a nice aroma emanates your kitchen. Finally add curry leaves and fried mushrooms into the curry. Your Mushroom Manchurian is ready to serve.
