Chilli Mushroom Dry

Ingredients :

White button mushrooms - 1 cup
All purpose flour - 1 cup
Capsicum - 1
Onion - 1
Garlic -7 to 8 cloves
Ginger, finely chopped - 1 inch piece
Green chillies - 2 to 3
Corn flour - 4 tsp
Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 2 pinches
Salt - as required
Soya sauce - 1 tbsp
Sugar - ¼ tsp

Preparation :

In a bowl add all purpose flour, 3 tsp of corn flour, pepper powder, salt along with some water and make it a medium consistency batter.


Mix the mushroom slices in the batter and coat uniformly.

Heat oil in a kadai or pan and put the coated mushrooms in it and fry till they are slighty golden and crisp. Keep it aside.

Now in another pan heat some oil and add onions, capsicum, ginger, garlic & green chillies and stir fry for a minute in medium flame.

Then add soya sauce salt, pepper and stir fry for half a minute.


Now add the fried batter coated mushrooms and stir on a low to medium flame. Sprinkle about 2 tsp water and 1 tsp corn flour on the mushrooms and saute for a minute or two. This gives a nice glaze to the mushrooms.


Switch off the flame and serve the chilli mushroom hot, with veg fried rice, bread or even chapatis or naan. Garnish with spring onion greens while serving.
