Heat oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds followed by cumin seeds. Once it starts spluttering, add hing and green chillies. Fry for a minute. Now add ginger, garlic, curry leaves and channa dal to it. Sauté the mixture till it turns golden brown in colour. Now add chopped cabbage, turmeric powder and coriander leaves to it. Don't forget to add salt and sugar. Mix well.
Never add water to this dish. Cabbage itself is rich with water. There is enough water inside the cabbage to get cooked.
Cook on a low flame until the cabbage is completely done. See! Cabbage subji is ready. You can serve it with rice, dosa or chapathi. Hope you will try out this recipe.
