Wheat Milk Porridge - Homemade Baby Food

lets Prepare a healthy Porridge made of broken wheat and milk. Broken wheat or Burghul is rich in Proteins and nutrients. This simple porridge is best for babies of 9 months of age and above.

Ingredients :

Broken wheat - 1 cup
Milk - 3/4 cup
Water - 1 glass
Rock Candy - 1-2tsp

Preparing Broken wheat Milk :

Clean broken wheat and soak for 6 hours or more in water. Mildly grind the soaked wheat in a mixer for a minute until pulverized smooth paste is attained. Now coax out the milk by stirring with a spoon, squeeze the broken wheat with hand and strain the milk using a strainer. Our key ingredient Wheat milk is ready.

To prepare Wheat –Milk Porridge:

Add a cup of milk to a thick-bottomed vessel, to this mix a glass of water and formerly made wheat milk. Simmer for about 10 minutes on a medium/low flame. Keep stirring continuously to avoid the milk from burning and forming of lumps. Finally add sweetness to the porridge with white rock sugar (crystallized sugar) or jaggery to taste. Let the Porridge boil till it turns thick. Finally your Wheat –Milk Porridge is ready to serve.
