Born and brought up in Argentina, Ariel Hassan, is now Lives & works between Australia and Germany. He is primarily a painter, but his practice extends to sculpture / installation and photography. He has won many prizes like Core Energy Group Sculpture Prize, Veolia Art Prize| Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney etc.
Ariel Hassan held his first exhibition in Spain in 2003. His each work, be it painting, sculpture or installation, becomes a suspended moment within the continuum, a reconstruction in a Nietzschean rhetorical play, that proposes that every possible combination of elementary particles occurs an infinite number of times, given infinite time.
Ariel Hassan is one among many artists visiting Kochi Biennale 2012 to understand the region’s culture and history and give shape to the projects for the grand international festival of visual art. In Biennale 2012, Mr. Hassan is scheduled to present a project titled Hypothetical Future Value (HFV), part of which recomposes photographic portraits of young people into abstract paintings.
