DAVID HALL
David Hall built around 1695 by the Dutch East India Company, was once the residence of the Dutch governor Hendrick Adrian Van Rheede Tot Drakestein who was also the author of the renowned book ' Horticus Malabaricus'. But the building got its name from a later occupant, a Jewish businessman called David Koder. Its architecture, well manicured garden and the trees in the courtyard makes it a charming place.
David Hall located on one side of the Parade Ground in Fort Kochi and now run by CGH Earth (Casino Group of Hotels), houses an art gallery / cafe and acts as a cultural centre to support young exponents of visual and performing art forms. The Gallery is open from 10am to 7pm and will remain closed on Mondays.
