MATTANCHERYWAREHOUSE
Warehouses elongate from Vypin Jetty along Calvathy Road and Bazaar Road to the Dutch Palace. This area is a centre of spice trading of Kerala. These warehouses play an important role in the spice history of Kerala. Dutch and British laid their colonies here, and they started to develop the spice trade. This area has become godowns for spice and other products. Even if some of them are abandoned, there are certain places, which is still using as the godowns. Kochi biennale has taken this area as the exhibition space for various art works.
