After the super hit 'Classmates' Ananya Films produces another campus
movie 'Chocolate' directed by Shafi - the director of bumper hits like
Kalyanaraman, Pulival kalyanam, Thommanum Makkalum, Majaa and Mayavi.
, it has an interesting plot.with a different way of love.
The story revolves around a women's college campus. St Mary's Women's
College has three girl-students Ann Mathews (Roma), Nandana (Samvritha
Sunil) and Sussanna (Ramya Nambeesan)- who are the terror of the college,
but they are smart and good at academics and also are the darlings of
the lecturers. They always hang out together and are the best of friends.
Their life takes a comic turn when Shyam (Prithviraj )son of Vanaja
Madam - a lecturer of the same college arrives to do his PG. The principal
or Management of Women's college have the discretion to admit a male
student or two, under special consideration. There are instances in
which men students have studied in Women's colleges in Kerala under
this system.
The Principal Alina John who is a broad minded woman, agrees to give
him admission after Vanaja Madam's special request. Shyam's mother wants
to get him admitted in the college because she wants him to learn to
respect women and view them as intelligent beings. In a few days time,
he becomes a pet of the campus and is forced to appear as a candidate
for the post of Union chairman in the elections opposite the female
gang. There starts a controversy, which develops into something that
totally changes the lives of those involved. Another important character
in the film is Renjith (Jayasurya), who is a fashion designer and is
unable to express his feelings for Nandana.
The film is scripted by the debutant duo Sachi-Sethu. The songs are
beautifully tuned by Alex Paul to the lyrics of Vayalar Sarathchandravarma.
Cinematographed by Azhagappan, the film is edited by Hariharaputhran.
The film shot at Ernakulam is ready for release during Onam.
