The story revolves around KK (John Abraham), a chain smoker. He knows
best and does exactly what he wants. His wife Anjali (Ayesha Takia) has
been trying various stunts to get her hubby to kick the butt, but she
hasn't succeeded so far. But one day, Anjali manages to drag him to
Baba Bengali Sealdahwale (Paresh Rawal). Now, Baba is a mysterious character.
He runs a rehabilitation center that helps people get rid of addictions.
When KK meets him, Baba puts forth a weird agreement without an exit
clause – once signed, it cannot be retracted. In a moment of arrogance,
KK agrees to sign the agreement, thinking that he will break out of
it whenever he wants to. But soon he realizes that the agreement is
no joke – when he first breaks the conditions of the contract
and light a cigarette, he finds his car being blown to smithereens.
Not one to give in so easily, KK tries every stunt in the book to steal
a fag, but every attempt ends in something scary. The only way to get
out of the agreement is to quit smoking. Somewhere along the way, KK
starts suspecting that Anjali is behind the happenings. And therein
hangs the tale. Shot in Kazakhstan, Siberia and Russia, in addition
to India, No Smoking brings together an interesting team of John Abraham,
Paresh Rawal and Ranvir Shorey. The film will also see Saif Ali Khan
and Bipasha Basu in guest appearances, with Bipasha doing an item number.
