This film, directed by Kunal Kohli has the most looked forward to pairing of Aamir Khan & Kajol. Aamir Khan is known to play different characters in each of his films and 'Fanaa' fits the pattern. The film is set in Kashmir and Aamir plays the role of a terrorist who falls in love with a Kashmiri girl, played by Kajol.

Fanaa is the love story of a terrorist and a Kashmiri girl, who is deprived of the pleasures of life. The entry of a young man changes her life and she goes through several emotional ups and downs in the film.

This is the first time Aamir Khan and Kajol have acted together. Indeed, 'Fanaa' also marks the return of Kajol to the screen following child birth. Rishi Kapoor plays the role of Kajol's father. Tabu also features in an important role in the film.

A part of the film has been already shot in Delhi. There were reports saying Aamir was not comfortable shooting in Kashmir and as a result the remaining parts of the film will be shot in freezing land of poland.
