"Good Boy Bad Boy" is yet another Himesh Reshammiya show. The
album consists of four light tracks and all of them are remixed by DJ
Suketu and A Myth. Generally, Reshammiya's music is hip, seemingly striking
a chord with the youth - the theme of the movie - but this one is not
so appealing.
"Good Boy Bad Boy" is the title track. Akriti Kakkar begins
it on a seductive note. Lyricist Sameer epitomises the contemporary
trend of fused languages but seems confused all through with his English,
Hindi and Punjabi lines. This is a slow paced track and sounds repetitive,
with the background score and vocals resembling each other.
Reshammiya returns with his trademark idiosyncratic, loud, stretched
vocals to render "Meri aawargi" along with Himani Kapoor.
The latter only lingers in the shadow of the music director.
Reshammiya begins "Aashiqana aalam hai" on a rather sombre
note, with touching violin play in the background prop. But then the
track picks up pace. Vinit, Alka Yagnik and Sunidhi Chauhan also join
him. For most part, Reshammiya dominates the track. The background score
is mainly composed of continuous beats and interrupting tabla play.
Zubeen Garg croons "Dard-e-dil", a lovelorn song. There's
nothing much to write about except that flutes, guitars and what not
mark their presence now and then. A small rap in between tries to add
zing to the track.
Musically "Good Boy Bad Boy" is drab.
