After the hit movie 'BharathChandran I P S' Ranji Panikkar has again scripted for his second directorial venture 'Raudram'. Panicker who had earlier scripted two hugely successful films- "Dubai" and "The King" with Mammootty in the lead, again has bagged the superstar for his script nearly 10 years after The King!

The movie tells the recent happening in Kerala's social and political atmosphere, where the Munnar debacle will be reviewed. Superstar Mammootty plays the role of Asst. Police Commissioner- Narendran alias Nari, who earnestly believes that everyone irrespective of status are entitled to justice. As he always stuck to his ideologies he naturally had a lot of enemies who wished to destroy him. Raudram deals with his powerful stance against all odds. Mammootty's character will have the shades of real life special officer Suresh Kumar, who is trapped between two big leaders of the same party, supposed to be sworn enemies.

Incidentally Mammootty plays the cop for the 25th time in his career in the film. New comer Manju plays the lead heroine opposite Mammootty. The others in the cast are Sai Kumar, Lalu Alex, Vijayaraghavan, Rajan.P.Dev, Janardanan etc. The film is being shot at Eloor, Kochi.

The film is produced by Shahul Hamid Marikkar and Anto Joseph under the banner of Marikar Films whose recent films, 'Big B' starring Mammootty and 'Hello' starring Mohanlal, have done well at the box office. Sanjiv Sankar handles the camera.

It will be a mass film with punch-lines and action, which the Mamooty's fans are sure to lap up. The film will be released at the end of November.
