A newly appointed police officer Ashok ( Rehman) tries his best to
clean up the corrupt system in the city but is killed by Carlos. Such
incidents involving innocent people gradually makes a change in
        Shanmugham.
The rest of the movie deals with the transformation of Shanmugham
from a killer to a peaceful man. He ends up fighting with his own gang
controlled by David Carlos Padaveedan and a good hearted City Police
Commissioner (Babu Antony) helps him out in his ordeal.
Director Renjith narrates a silly but complicated story. In an
indirect way he is trying to warn the public that there are lawyers in
Kochi City who are real SHARKS who will eat you live with or without the
underworld connections. There is plenty of potential for a sequel to
this movie. Ranjith handles the storyline of an 'Unscrupulous Lawyer of
Kochi' very well. Mammootty, as usual handles the role of Shanmugham,
with style. He does put up a make believe "Real" type of
performance. In fact the film revolves around his superhuman character.
For Rahman, it is a great comeback after a long break in Malayalam
films. Lal gives a convincing performance in his negative role.
Janardhanan and Sona Nair does justice to their roles. TV channel SS
Music's VJ Shreya Reddy as a migrant Tamil lady, Anandam is okay.
The song "Ambalakara Thechikavil Pooram" sung by
M.G.Sreekumar is a well choreographed, memorable one. Even though the
film has a lot of street fights and violence, the majority of the
audience seem to love this genre, so it is not a waste at all.
        We rate this movie  Average.
