Produced by Sheetal DK and directed by Sumir Sabharwal, film 'Valentines
Day' is yet another new-age film which follows the treaded path of films
which are youth oriented and belong to the 'new-age-sensibility' cinema.
The film has all new comers including Sameer who forms the lead along with
freshers like Ratna, Protima, Nikhil and Hollywood actress Sheena. The film
will mark Sumir Sabharwal's debut as a director.
Refusing to let out the story of the film Sumir mentions that the film
is about bitter sweet incidences in the life of three friends who all
compete to impress the Hollywood actress called Sheena who comes to India
to shoot a sequence of her film and is impressed by the Indian culture.
The film has taken four long years to finally take shape. According to
the director it's the script of the film which needed to be carefully
done and was time-consuming.
Seemingly, the film gives an impression of hits like 'Dil Chahata Hai',
'Style', 'Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai ' etc. However the director mentioned that
the film is different from 'Dil Chahta Hai'. The film has been made on
a shoe-string budget and the producer Sheetal DK is also planning for
the international release of their film 'Valentines Day' as they believe
that the film has a subject of international appeal.
The music of the film is upbeat and tappy and singers Leslie Lewis and
Sanjeevani believe that the film does bring across the youthful energy.
The film has songs both in Hindi and English for a wider appeal, pop singer
Mehnaz has sung an English number in the film, while singer Sanjeevani
had to work towards singing the western notes since she has mostly been
into classical singing. Making their debut with 'Valentines Day' the actors
of the film are hopeful that the film works for them. Explaining his role
in the film 'Valentines Day' the Delhiite Sameer Kochchar narrates his
experience with his co-stars giving special reference to Hollywood actress
Sheena.
The film will be released in the first week of November amidst Diwali
festival which also marks the onstart of holidays in schools and colleges.
With the youth thronging at the cinema halls on holidays the team of 'Valentines
Days' has high hopes of its success.
