Supari is about four college kids lured into the dark world of power and easy money only to realise later that there is no escape..

Aryan Pandit (Uday Chopra), Rahul Lalwani alias Papad (Rahul Dev), Jignesh Mehta alias Chicken (Purab Raj Kohli) and Mushtaq Sheikh alias Mushy (Akash Saigal) are four best friends who dream of riches, girls and Ferrari's. They live life the way they want and enjoys every moment of it. But they go too far when they decide to bet big over a game of cricket and make easy money. They loose the bet and owes a heavy sum of money to Mamta Sekhri ( Nandita Das), a powerful woman having ties with the underworld. Now they are in a dilemma.. they have only one choice either to pay her back within two days or accept a contract to kill..

Aryan agrees to the latter and his friends follow through. They get trained and equipped by Baba (Irfaan Khan) and Mamta. Thus they embark on a journey to doom.. They begin to enjoy the power and the money it brings. Killing becomes strictly business. They find themselves sinking deep in the grim underworld.

But among them Chicken, the guy with a conscience burdened by guilt shoots himself. Aryan's girl friend Dilnawaz ( Nauheed Cyrusil) also gets shot by a bullet meant for him. All these incidents and an encounter with a pregnant woman where Aryan helps her out, eventually makes him think about the futility of it all. He also feels guilty of involving his friends in the whole mess and he wants to break free. He wishes for the good old days where they were doing everything except murder. He realises that the only way out is through Mamta. But will he able to get back his old life? will he be able to get back his friends or even if they could will they want to?
The story line is interesting seen in a different angle from the movies of this genre. But the theme looses its sheen due to an incompetent screenplay and narration. The pace is pretty good till Chicken's death but after that it slackens. The credibility of the shootouts in broad daylight in public without even a cop coming in anywhere is highly questionable.

Some of the characters and their relationships are also not well defined or realistic and in some places the dialogues get too preachy. But some of the sequences are sure to leave an impact, especially when chicken kills himself, the scene after Aryan makes his first murder and when Dilnawaz gets shot. The Director should have taken care to make the depiction more realistic and well defined but emotionally the film may strike a chord.

Music is good, especially the song 'Tujhe chand chaiye' has been picturised beautifully. Editing is crisp, Dialogues are good except in some places where it gets heavy and action is okay.

Performance wise, Uday Chopra has done well, a big difference from his usual lover boy image. Purab's acting is natural, Rahul Dev is okay and Akash's character is sure to be noticed. Nandita Das lacks the ruthlessness the character demands but her eyes conveys the cruelty and the coldness of the character. She is talented for sure. Nauheed for her debut film shows promise. Nisha Arora and Irrfan Khan does not impress.

Don't compare the movie to films like Sathya, Company etc of this genre. Go watch it if you are looking for some action..
