Both Anjali and Jai (Akshaye Khanna), the youngest son of Angaarchand
land up in the same college. Anjali has been send by her family with
a devious scheme - to make Jai fall in love with her and thus break
his families vow. Jai on the other hand plays his own game. But the
charade turns serious when the two develop real feelings for each other.
Then it becomes a battle between the couple who wants to get married
and the two families who are dead against it.
The first half delivers what the film promises.. It is light with comical
situations in plenty. But in the second half the movie takes a complete
turn, becoming more serious. Clashes of ego between the two families
come to the forefront till the climax where it becomes light again.
Music is just okay; screen play, dialogues and cinematography is good.
Akshay as Jai gives a convincing performance. Arshad Warsi as his best
friend and trouble maker who assists Jai in all his pranks steals the
show. Kareena looks good and is competent especially in the first half.
Amrish Puri gives his usual tough act. The rest of the cast are ok.
Even with all its flaws, the movie is entertaining in most parts. Leave
logic behind and you could enjoy it.
