Two years after Kajol's sister Tanisha was asked to
leave "Uuf Kya...Jadoo Mohabbat Hai", she will be seen
co-staring with Sammir Dattani in a film shot in Chicago.
"It's all a little funny in the hindsight. Tanisha and I shot
almost half the film together before she left. It felt really strange to
re-shoot the entire film with another actress (Pooja Kanwal),"
Sammir, who made his debut in "Uuf..." told IANS.
Tanisha had been dismissed mid-way during a long outdoor shooting in
Ooty, apparently for what the producers Rajshri described as
"unacceptable behaviour".
She has now been signed with Sammir in a production by Chicago-based
producer Masood Ali and directed by Pakistani actor Omar Sharif.
"I had nothing to do with Tanisha's departure from 'Uuf ...Kya
Jadoo Mohabbat Hai'. The problems were between her and the producers. In
fact I look forward to working with her again," he said.
Meanwhile, Sammir has just returned from Mauritius after a 10-day shoot
for Hriday Shetty's "Pal Tham Gaya", where he co-stars with
Soha Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia and Rishi Kapoor.
"I was barely born when they (Dimple and Rishi) came together in
'Bobby'. But it's one of my favourite films. So when I was finally
acting with them it was like dream come true."
In the film, Dattani plays Soha's progressive boyfriend who openly
supports her mother's decision to remarry at a time when her daughter is
about to tie the knot.
"It's a very fresh and convention-defying theme, and very romantic.
I couldn't have hoped for a better post-debut film.
"I got to shake a leg with Emma Bunton of Spice Girls for a shaadi
sequence. And yes, I made a very good friend in Soha. She's extremely
hassle-free and easy to work with," Sammir said.
In the film with Tanisha, Sammir plays a superstar-musician from India
who, during a concert tour in the US is stalked by a fan.
"It a small world out here. Tanisha and I couldn't be seen in 'Uuf...Kya
Jadoo Mohabbat Hai'. Maybe we were destined to create jadoo in
Chicago."
