Noel tells her
boyfriend Paul that he has her heart and they are convinced that their
feelings for each other are real and true. Noel changes Paul's world and
brings out the tender soul inside his crude exterior. Being in love with
Noel, for the first time, Paul wants to delay having sex, mainly because
he wants to change his reputation of promiscuity. But Paul's lack of direction
makes it difficult for him to handle a tender emotional relationship and
ends up in frustration.
The writer-director David Gordon Green has
quite a peculiar style in making movies. In portraying the kind of love
between Paul and Noel, Mr.Green catches different moods of the love birds
in a poetic way. Cinematography by Tim Orrs adds to its charm. The movie
deals with the emotions of the confused young lovers. Mr. Green has crafted
an excellent portrait of two youngster's first encounter with love.
Both, Deschanel and Schneider give good performance.
They have made a genuine effort to express their feelings through the
raw love stuck dialogue's they deliver.
It's dreamy love story with it's elation
and pain, worth watching. Especially young lover's should see it.
