Nameri National Park

Nameri National Park covering an area of about 200sq. kms is located at the foothills of eastern Himalayas about 35km from Tezpur, the nearest town. The park is the second Tiger reserve of Assam. The park consists of deciduous forests, hills and the river Jia Bhoroli flows through it. Nameri was set up as a sanctuary on 18th September 1985 with an area of 137 sq km which was actually a part of Naduar Forest Reserve. Click here for more details

Orang National Park (Mini Kaziranga)

Orang national park popularly known as mini Kaziranga, is located on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra. The park covering an area of 72-sq-kms was established as a sanctuary in 1985 and declared a National Park on 13th April 1999. Famous for its natural scenic beauty, the park is about 150-km from Guwahati and 31-km from Tezpur, the nearest town. Click here for more details

Maha-Bhairava Temple, Tezpur
Maha- Bhairav  temple at Tezpur believed to have been built by prehistoric monarch Bana who is said to have first introduced the cult of the Phallus and the worship of Siva to Assam. A fair is held here during Sivaratri. Tezpur is 196 km from Guwahati.
