Another campus movie from Kamal after 'Niram'... It is different in the sense its not just a love story that usually forms the basis of campus movies but deals with deep friendships, sacrifices and a mother son relationship.
Shyam (Siddharth) and Sivan (Jishnu) are thick friends who are very popular in college. They are fun to be with and mischievous, and have a lot of friends. Their friends believe that they are rich kids whose parents are abroad except one (noolunda) who knows the truth. Contrary to their belief Shyam and Sivan are really orphans who attend college during the day and work for a living in the night. Their guardian is Balachandra Menon who is in charge of the orphanage.

Snehalatha ( Suhasini ) takes charge as the new principal in the college. Arpana ( Renuka Menon), another student who was in school together with Siddharth and had a soft corner for him, joins college. She is ragged by the mischievous duo. She complains to Suhasini who happens to be her mothers friend. Suhasini warns the boys but later when she comes to know of their real demeanor she feels sorry for them and takes special interest in them. The boys become close to her and then their guardian reveals to them that one of them is her own son. Who is the real one? .. the rest of the story deals with the orphan's curiosity and  their yearning to belong to somebody and the deepness of their friendship.

Kamal has done a good job and the film keeps the audience interest intact. The script by Kalavoor Ravi Kumar is solid with well balanced comedy, sentiments and romance. The new comers Jishnu (Shivan), Siddharth (Shyam), Renuka Menon (Aparna), Bhavana as the girl who has a soft corner for Jishnu & Vijesh Kumar has played their roles well. Jishnu gives the better performance of the lot. Siddharth needs to improve his emoting skills a bit. Veteran actress Suhasini as usual gives an excellent performance. Music by Mohan Sitara’s is melodious and the songs have become super hits.

Overall the film is entertaining and worth watching.
