Promising actor Puneet Raj Kumar has shown his talent in his new film "Akash", produced by his mother Parvathamma Raj Kumar.

"Akash" is Puneet's fifth film and has a straightforward but gripping narrative. While it does not boast of a great storyline, what holds the audience is the way the film has been narrated.

The film is about a young, carefree man named Akash who is an optimist and a chatterbox and keeps others in good humour. He faces life as it comes and does not worry even if this attitude lands him in trouble.

The only time when he conforms to stereotypes is in his relationship with his sister of whom he is very protective.

Director Mahesh Babu has done a good job in presenting the characterization of Akash. He has also been able to extract good performances from the other artistes. Cameraman Prasad Babu and editor Manohar have provided good technical support.

Ramya has done a neat job and once again proved her credentials as a talented actress. This is the second film in which Puneet and Ramya have been paired together. Ramya looks glamorous all through, particularly in two song sequences shot abroad.

Another highlight of the film is the script by M.S. Ramesh. But the same cannot be said about the music. Except for one song, "Neene Neene", no other song deserves mention.
