Tabu alias Tabassum Azmi started her film career as a child artiste for
Dev Anand’s Hum Naujawan. The first film she signed on as lead actress
was 'Prem', but 'Pehla Pehla Pyar' released first and launched her as
leading lady. With every film Tabu, has been growing as an actress. Apart
from doing Hindi films, Tabu has also worked in a Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
Tabu actually reached the audience as the
'Ruk ruk' girl in Vijaypath. She was also lucky to catch Gulzar's eye.
A couple of meaningful roles in his films, mainly Maachis, and she was
an actress to reckon with. Priyadarshan's Viraasat and Kamal Haasan's
Chachi 420 saw her excelling as an actress.
