Dil Vil Pyar Vyar
Cast
: Madhavan, Namrata Shirodkar, Jimmy Shergill, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Sanjay Suri, Sonali Kulkarni, Bhavna Pani, Rakesh Bhapat
Director
: Anant Mahadevan
Music
: R.D Burman's Music rearranged by Babloo Chakravorty
Producer
: Viveck Vaswani

Debutant director Anand Mahadevan has tried a novel idea- recreated R.D Burmans Music, woven them skillfully around a story of four young couples in his film 'Dil Vil Pyar Vyar'. And he has done a decent job of it.

It is three separate stories gelled into one.. the couples involved are Krish (Madhavan) and Raksha (Namrata Shirodkar) a happily married singer couple, waiting to make it big in the music world. Problems arise between them when Raksha gets a good break and make it big while the more ambitious Krish still struggles. Their marriage becomes shaky.

Hritik (Jimmy Shergill) plays a spoilt rich boy madly in love with a Goan girl Jojo (Hrishitaa Bhatt) from an ordinary family. But Jojo refuses to marry him unless he makes some thing out of life on his own.
Dev (Sanjay Suri) a widower nurtures feelings for his neighbour Gauri (Sonali Kulkarni) but they are restrained by her depressed paralytic brother totally dependent on her. Dev who works for a music company has to find a way to make enough money for treating Gauri's brother, if he wants a future with Gauri. Meanwhile Dev's sister Rachna (Bhavna Pani) yearns for Gauri's brother Gaurav's (Rakesh Bhapat) attention.

The three men come together in a big time singing competition. By winning the competition, each of them has something to gain in their life and prove to their girls. Who wins and who loses is to be seen...

The credit goes to the director for narrating an otherwise ordinary story beautifully. The relationships between the couples especially Hritik, Jojo and Krish, Raksha has some touching movements. The dialogues and of course 14 of Burman's all time favourite songs, add to the effect. Mahadevan should have given more attention to the other couples characters also.

Performance wise, Jimmy Shergill and Namrata Shirodkar have done their roles with ease. Namrata looks beautiful and has talent too. Jimmy Shergill is natural as the easy going rich boy. Madhavan is likable and does some of his scenes very well. The rest of the cast is just about okay.

The movie is average, but a must see for R.D Burman music lovers.
