Dil Hai Tumhara
Cast
: Preity Zinta, Mahima Chaudhary, Arjun Rampal, Jimmy Shergill, Rekha
Director
: Kundan Shah
Music
: Nadeem Shravan
Producer
: Tips

Dil Hai Tumhara' narrates the intricate relationship of a widowed mother Sarita (Rekha) and her two daughters Nimmy (Mahima Chaudhary) & Shalu (Priety Zinta). Shekhar (Sachin Khedekar), Rekha's husband leaves his daughter Shalu by another liaison in Sarita's care when he dies. They grow up like real siblings.

Shalu , a tomboyish, wacky young girl loves her stepmother and always strives hard to win her love and attention. But Sarita showers all her affection on her real daughter Nimmy. Shalu's best friend is Sameer (Jimmy Shergill), the only person who really understands her. Life moves on uneventfully until a handsome, successful and eligible businessman Dev (Arjun Rampal), who knows his mind and gets what he wants arrives in their lives. Both Shalu and Nimmy are drawn towards him. Shalu's love is sidetracked when her mother asks for her help. Shalu, who has always searched for ways to win her mother's attention and love, takes up this opportunity to save her mother's political career and sacrifice her love in the bargain. Along with Sameer who loves her dearly, she plans to let her sister win her love..

Kundan Shah has handled the film well. He has a way with narrating sensitive human relationships. The first half till the interval moves at a smooth pace with light movements in between. The story picks up pace in the second half with a climax that is sure to touch a chord among the viewers.

The cast especially the women has given a beautiful performance. Preity who was also the directors leading lady in his last hit 'Kya Kehna' handles her vivacious, likable character with ease. Mahima Chaudhary, as the gentle and feminine elder sister has given a touching performance. The role of the wealthy, powerful widow and mother is safe with veteran Rekha. Although the men has nothing much to do in a women dominated film Arjun Rampal and Jimmy Shergill has done their parts well. Alok Nath as Arjun Rampal's father in a supporting role is good.

The music by Nadeem - Shravan except maybe for 'Mohabbat' and 'Dil laga liya' is just okay. Overall the film is a touching tale, worth watching.
