Kalyan plans film with his father under NTR banner
After his roaring hit "Athanokkade", young actor Kalyan Ram is one big star today. He is hopeful that his next release "Asadyudu" will be equally successful and promises an "exciting film" with his father Harikrishna soon.

"It's a powerful role," says the grandson of legendary N.T. Rama Rao of his new film, where he has teamed up with debutant director Anilkrishna.

Talking to IANS, Kalyan Ram said he has signed a film with veteran director Teja and another one for SP Entertainments but is most perked up about their family project under their pet banner, NTR Arts.

Excerpts from the interview:

Q: Will "Asadyudu" sustain your newfound stardom?

A: Definitely, since the script is quite exciting and the screenplay refreshing. I am playing a multi-dimensional role with enough scope for histrionics.

I picked it out from several offers. I strongly believe that this is the ideal film to follow "Athanokkade" for quite a few reasons besides the script.

Q: Will it be another revenge saga doused in mindless action?

A: It is very different from an action flick. We will not show knives and guns since it is not a revenge drama. It relies more on emotions. It is a commercial movie but still it is bound to leave its distinct mark on Telugu cinema.

Unlike in "Athanokkade", the heroine's role here will be limited to supporting the protagonist.

Q: Have you shelved the much-hyped film with your father Harikrishna under the NTR Arts?

A: Not at all. It is a dream project for me. We are browsing through various story ideas and are bound to hit upon a solid plot soon. It has increased the expectations of the audience so we want to be doubly sure about the content before commencing work on it. Until then I would be busy doing films with other producers.

Q: What all films have you signed?

A: With "Asadyudu" slated for release on Feb 10, I will be doing a film with Teja. I have also signed a film with SP Entertainments and a new director will direct it. My preference for debutants will continue as I intend to work with directors brimming with fresh ideas.

Another of my dreams is to make a memorable film with my uncle Balakrishna under NTR Arts. Right now, I am scouting around for a suitable script.
