When a middle school English teacher and failed novelist, Miles (Paul Giamatti) takes his college roommate and actor, Jack (Thomas Haden Church) on a wine-tasting road trip along the California countryside to celebrate Jack’s impending marriage and his last days of freedom, madness ensues. On this all-boys road trip, both have time to question the destination of their lives.

Miles, three years post divorce, realizes that he is able to love and enjoy the company of a woman again after encountering a waitress, Maya (Virginia Madsen ). Jack, on the other hand, uses the trip to experience some final thrills, including a sexual liaison with a single hippie mom Stephanie (Sandra Oh) before marrying the woman he loves. The unlikely duo enjoys their week of freedom, tasting wine on their to self-realization.

But, a threat hangs over their week together: Will Miles taste too much wine and go to his "dark side?" Will Jack chase life -- meaning women -- so recklessly as to endanger his chance at marital bliss?

Those wishing for a happy ending will not be disappointed.

Throughout the film, there are many quirks and memorable lines that will leave you chuckling in your seat. The movie is unpredictable throughout and is refreshing. The California countryside and cinematography are wonderful as well. The movie isn’t an obvious hit, but has a subtle class written all over it. It will leave you wanting to jump into your car with your best bud and have a wine-tasting adventure of your own.

We rate this movie Good.
