It affect all ages and both sexes. People with binge eating may suffer from psychological as well as physical problems. Most of the complications occur due to unhealthy eating habits followed by harsh dieting. Binge eaters may have a lack of nutrients, as they usually consume more fats and sugars which don't have sufficient vitamins or minerals.
The major complications of Binge eating disorder are the diseases that accompany obesity, like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol level, gallbladder disease, heart disease, certain types of cancer etc.  Concern about the weight gain and shape of body will lead people especially teenagers to unhealthy diet.

Psychologically, people with binge eating may often seem depressed and may have trouble handling some of their emotions. Other problems include abusing alcohol, acting quickly without thinking (impulsive behavior), not feeling in charge of themselves, not feeling a part of their communities, and not noticing and talking about their feelings.
