BINGE EATING CAUSES SYMPTOMS RISK FACTORS TREATMENT

Alike Anorexia nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa, Binge eating is considered as an eating disorder which involves unhealthy patterns of eating. Binge eating disorder is characterized by compulsive overeating in which people consume huge amounts of food while feeling out of control and powerless to stop. Emotions play a vital role in this  disorder as the binge eaters use food to cope with stress and other negative emotions. Afterwards they may often struggle with  feelings of  guilt, disgust and depression.

Both Binge eating and Bulimia involve over eating, feeling out of control while eating. But unlike Bulimia Nervosa, people with Binge eating disorder do not use vomiting or laxatives to cleanse as a way to control weight, and hence people with binge eating problems are usually overweight.
