The lessons of environmental protection and tree conservation should start from home… Here is a simple idea for children to cultivate plants and herbs at home in quite an environment friendly method by reusing old plastic bottles as your plant pots.

Collect the following things to set your plants
» Old plastic bottle – 1
» Mud
» Water
» Iron Nail
» Cotton thread
» Knife
» Water
» Your plant

Cut the bottle into two halves

Cut the bottle into two halves.

make a hole in the cap of the bottle

Heat the nail and use it to make a hole in the cap of the bottle.

insert half of it through the hole

Cut a piece of cotton thread, and insert half of it through the hole.

fix your plant

Fill this part of the bottle with mud and fix your plant in it.

fill 1/4th of it with water

Now take the other half of the bottle and fill 1/4th of it with water.

carefully place the mud filled part inside

Now carefully place the mud filled part inside. This is the reservoir. The cotton thread in first half of the bottle will absorb water and wet the mud. That's it. You're done! So this is our self watering pot.
