Souvik Sur from Kolkata brings in the spirit of Durga Puja with this home-made paper idols of Durga and Shiva.

It is the time of the year when West Bengal resonates with the annual festival of Navratri and Durga Puja.

Method
1. The body of GODDESS KALI and LORD SHIVA has been made with the covers of our exercise-copies, by rolling them into the desired shapes and body structures, and by attaching them with staple pins and cello tape.
2. Then, the bodies are colored using oil - colors.
3. The sari has bee made using very thin quality of red paper (used for making kites), and the sari ha been decorated with 'chumkis'(small glittering pieces of metals) and 'zari'(glittering threads)
4. The ornaments are made by arranging these small chumkis into several patterns on silver - paper.
5. The hair has been obtained from the market
6. The weapons are also made using the silver paper and gum.
7. Tiger skin worn by Shiva is made using yellow paper (similar to that used to make the sari), and painting the black lines on it using a felt-pen.
8. The background has been made using in thermocol sheet and marble paper.
