Skanda Sashti festival is the famous festival celebrated in the Tiruchendur Subramanya temple (48km east of Thirunelveli) to commemorate the victory of the Lord over the demon. This festival which lasts for six days is celebrated during the Tamil month Aippasi (October-November). On the last day of the festival the epic story of "Surasamhara" in all its true form is performed.
