Ahar Archeological Museum
 

The archeological museum at Ahar (about 2kms east of Udaipur ) with rare collection of antique and artifacts have a lot of historical significance. The exhibits in Ahar museum includes sculptures, coins, pottery, earthen pots, iron objects etc. and many of the objects displayed here dates back to 1700 B.C. Most notable among the exhibits are the metal statute of Lord Buddha belonging to the 10th century and a superb image of God Surya. The skin scrubber, terracotta toys, seals, animal figures, stone weights and balls are another attractions of Ahar museum. Amongst the collection of sculptures, a statue of Vishnu-Nag-Nathan of mediaeval era in which the snakes are tangled around the deity is worth mentioning.

The objects displayed in Ahar museum are excavated and collected by the continuous efforts of archeological department of Rajasthan. The museum remain open from 10 am to 4.30 pm everyday except Friday and Government holidays.
