Fairs and Festivals

Fairs and festivals are an essential part of Indian heritage. Bhopal celebrates the spirit of India through its various fairs and festivals. They are celebrated to rejuvenate the old Indian cultures, so that people can realize the traditional and exclusive folk cultures of their own country. Festivals like Diwali, Ramnavami, Dussehra and Navratri are celebrated by the Hindus of the city with crackers, sweets and flowers. The main festivals celebrated in Bhopal are Diwali, Ram Navami, Eid, Ijtima etc.

Diwali is the festival of lights celebrated with great enthusiasm. The main highlights of the festival are fun, food, fair and Social gathering.  

Ram Navami is celebrated on the ninth day of Chaitra to commemorate the birth of Lord Rama.

During the festival of Eid, all the Hindus in Bhopal, greet their Muslim friends and and get treated with sweet sewaiya.
