Pain is the most common symptom associated with kidney stones.
Stone pain is sudden, severe and sharp when it begins and later will come and
go over time as the stone moves. The pain is unrelated to the size of the stone
and often radiates from the lower back to the side or groin. Other symptoms
may include :
irritation
urinary blockage
back pain
blood in urine (hematuria)
nausea and vomiting
increased frequency of urination
urinary tract infection (fever, chills, loss of appetite)
