Colorectal Cancer
Causes
The exact reason of colorectal cancer is unknown. But there are certain
factors that make cancer more likely. They are age, colorectal polyps, family
history, genetic alterations, personal history, drug effects, cigarette smoking
etc. Not all polyps become cancerous, but nearly all colon cancers start as
polyps.
Eating a diet which is low in fiber is also a risk factor for developing
colorectal cancer. Research shows that women with a history of cancer of the
ovary, uterus, or breast have an increased chance of developing colorectal
cancer. People who have a sedentary lifestyle are more likely to develop cancer
than people who take regular physical exercise. |
