Ambarnath is an important pilgrim center and a small industrial township located  at a distance of 26kms from Thane and about 60 kms to the east of Mumbai. Literally means 'Lord of the sky', the place is famous for 11th century Ambreshwar Shiva Temple. Divided into two parts namely Ambarnath west which is an industrial zone and Ambarnath east. The industrial zone is home to hundreds of small and large chemical factories.
