Chittaurgarh Fort, one of the finest example of Rajput architecture, is
situated on the banks of river Gambheri in the southern part of Rajasthan.
Sprawl over an area of 700 acres, the historical Chittaurgarh fort, believed
to be built by Chitrangad of the Mori dynasty in the 7th century AD, is
about 112 kms away from Udaipur. But according to legends, it is said
that the fort was constructed by Bhim, one of the Pandava heroes of the
epic Mahabharata. Several richly decorated buildings are located within
the Cittaugarh fort.
