Thane and 180kms from Mumbai, Jawahar alias Jawhar is a picturesque hill
station surrounded by dense green vegetation and numerous breathtaking
and eye catching waterfalls. Because of its climate and beauty, the place
is known as the Mahabaleshwar of Thane. Jawahar is also renowned for its
Warli paintings, depicting tribal life. Some of the major attractions
here are the majestic Dadara Kopra Falls, Palusa Falls, Jai Vilas Palace,
Bhupatghad fort, hanuman point, Sunset Points etc. Historical evidences
shows that, Chathrapathi Shivaji camped at Jawahar during his travel to
Surat. The view points here offers beautiful panoramic view of the down
valley.
