Tribal museum situated near the Don Bosco Bridge on the
Queens Road, about 4kms from Pune is managed and maintained by Tribal
Research and training Institute. The museum showcases the life and culture
of the tribal communities belonging to the Sahyadri and Gondhavana regions
of the state of Maharashtra. It houses an excellent collection of articles
such as pictures, paintings, clothes, utensils, handicrafts, ornaments,
musical instruments ,images of deities, weapons and other artifacts used
and made by different tribes like Bahiram tribes, Danteswari tribes, Marai
tribes, and Wagdheo tribes of the region. The museum opens from 10:00
am and 5:00 pm on all days and closed on Sundays and government holidays.
