Bangalore International Airport, known as HAL Airport, situated on Airport Road about 6kms from MG Road is one of the major civil airports in India. It functions as a domestic airport as well as an international airport. Terminal I and Terminal II serves as the departure and arrival lounge for the domestic flights. Indian Airlines, Air India and private carriers operate regular flights to major cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Panaji, Kochi etc.
International Terminal handles Departure and Arrival of International flights. It has direct international flights to destinations in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. It is also a stopover for many international flights.

Bangalore is an important railway station on the southern railway network. The two major railway stations 'The Bangalore city railway station' and 'Bangalore cantonment railway station' is connected to the rest of the country both by broad gauge and metre gauge rail services. Bangalore is located at the junction of National Highways 4, 7 and 48 which connects the city to all parts of the country. The interstate bus terminus is situated in Subashnagar near Majestic Circle and faces the Bangalore City Railway Station. All neighbouring state road transport corporations- from Kerala , Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Goa, connect the city with their respective states. Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) operates buses within the state as well as outside the state. Apart from these a numbers of private agencies also ply regular buses to towns and cities across the country.
Local Transport :
The city bus service provided by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) ply buses within the city. The other com1 modes of transport in the city are metered auto- rickshaws and tourist taxis. KSTDC maintains a fleet of cars for hire. The number of yellow top taxis are limited within the city, mostly around the airport area.
