1930 British Empire Games-Hamilton, Canada
The first ever Common Wealth Games then known as British Empire Games was held in Hamilton, in the province of Ontario in Canada from August 16–23, 1930.

11 countries and 400 athletes, participated in 6 sports and 59 events. The events included athletics, boxing, lawn bowls, rowing, swimming and wrestling. The opening ceremonies and many events were held at the Civic Stadium in east Hamilton.
