The traditionally and culturally rich state, Tamilnadu is bordered by the Bay of Bengal in the east, Indian Ocean in the south, the states of Kerala and Karnataka in the west, and Andhra Pradesh in the North. The land that has a history spanning over thousands of years, is blessed with beautiful hill stations, beaches and temples and is one of the major tourist destinations in India. Madurai, Trichy, Palani, Tiruvallur, Tanjore, Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram are the famous temple towns in the state.Steeped in history, the ancient Dravidian land has hundreds of stories to share about its monuments and temples. Most of the temples are designed in the Dravidian Style of architecture and is famous for its sculptured 'Gopurams' (towers). The Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, Nataraja temple at Chidambaram, Murugan Temple in Rameswaram etc are a few of them.

Away from the heat of the plains, delightful hill stations like Ooty, Kodaikkanal, Yercaud, Coonor, Kottagiri and Nilgiris in Tamil Nadu, are always an attraction to the tourists. As the hill stations are town located, they are easily accessible. Recreation facilities like Trekking, Hang-Gliding, fishing and Golf etc make them viable to adventure lovers, apart from nature lovers who depend on these hill stations for the cool atmosphere, peaceful walks amidst nature (co-existence with nature), rejuvenation and fun activities.

The land will get rain from the North-east Monsoons between October and December but the remaining time she remains dry. The best time to visit Tamil Nadu is between October to March, this time climate will be pleasantly cool.
