Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
Symptoms
At the early stage chronic kidney disease do not have any symptoms.
It become noticeable as the disease worsens and it can affect different body
systems. Some symptoms represent the possibility of a severe complication of
chronic kidney disease.
Symptoms of CKD may
include :
- fatigue and weakness
- itching, easy bruising
- loss of appetite (anorexia)
- nausea and vomiting
- swelling of the legs and puffiness around the eyes
- frequent urination, especially at night
- shortness of breath
- fluid retention, shown as ankle swelling (oedema)
- high blood pressure
- headaches
- numbness in the feet or hands
- bleeding
- change in mental status
- bone pain and fractures
