Nakkatyya is a stage performance based on the epic Ramayan conducted every year at Chetganj in the month of October. The show is based on the epic Ramayana which describes the story of Surpnakha, the sister of the devil King Ravana, who comes to entice Ram and then Lakshman. Getting angry, Lakshman chops off her nose and it provoked Ravana to take a revenge against the brothers. He abduct Sita and Ram goes to rescue her with his army. This episode is performed annually during Nakkatyya. Various processions and tableaus are also conducted as a part of the festival.
