Mewar festival, held in the month of March/ April to welcome the spring season last for three days. Even though the entire Rajasthan celebrates Mewar festival, one could find the full spirit of the festival in Udaipur, as it is the governing place of Mewar sovereigns. On the festive days, the entire city including all the markets and shops dips in the gala by embellishing them with lights and decorations. During the festival, the women dress in their finest attire gather at the Gangaur Ghat at Pichola Lake to immerse the idols of Isar (Lord Shiva) and Gangaur (Goddess Parvati). This bright and colorful festival concludes with a sparkling fireworks, attracts tourists from all over.
