Udaipur Lake Palace (Jag Niwas Palace)

Udaipur Lake Palace, initially known as Jag Niwas Palace, located amidst the scenic Pichola Lake on Jag Niwas island is one of the most romantic places in the world. This beautiful white-marble and granite structure was build in 1746 by Maharana Jagat Singh II, as a summer residence of the rulers. The magnificent lake palace stretches across an area of 4 acre is one of the best examples of Mughal-Rajput architecture with ancient paintings, stain glass windows, antique furniture, bath reservoirs etc. Lake Palace has a series of courtyards that are aligned with numerous columns, terraces, beautiful fountains and well laid gardens. Sheesh Mahal (The Mirror Palace), Krishna Vilas (The Abode of Lord Krishna), Chini Chitrashala (Chinese Art Gallery), Mor Chowk (Peacock Court) and the Amar Vilas (The Eernal Abode) are the major attractions of lake palace.

Now the lake palace has been renewed into a five-star heritage hotel managed by gateway group of hotels that provides world class amenities with immaculate hospitality. However, tourists can visit lake palace and enjoy the serene view without any hassle.
