Ramgarh, an ancient site located 25 kms in the north-east of Jaipur, is
famous for its huge artificial lake called Ramgarh Lake. The 4kms long
and 2kms wide lake was created by constructing a high bund amidst the
hills covered with trees. This peaceful picnic spot with beautiful landscape
attracts tourists from far off places especially during monsoons, while
the lake gets inundated with water.
Other attractions of Ramgarh are Jamwa Mata temple famed for its magnificent
architecture, the ruins of an ancient fort belongs to Kachhawahas and
the Polo grounds located between the Aravalli Hills and Ramgarh Lake.
The Ramgarh lodge located nearby is a historic structure which houses
a museum and a library. Now the lodge has been converted to a heritage
hotel with high five facilities. |
