actually two parts, both on the sea side (Arabian sea) and both
enclosed by Gujarat. Daman

is near Junagadh in the Saurashtra Peninsula of Gujarat. Daman is a
small part in the Gulf of Khambhat (Cambay) while Diu is an island
joined to the mainland of Gujarat by a creek.

between Mumbai and Surat. All major express trains have stoppage at Vapi station. The Mumbai – Delhi railway line passes through this station. Another nearby station is Valsad Junction, just about 35 Km from Daman.

Daman is well connected by roads. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway No. 8 connects Daman with Vapi
